Review #1,718: Pimp Daddy "Still Pimpin'"

Reviewed on 4.27.2017 (Review #1,718)

Happy late birthday to my great-grandma, Lena; she woulda been 96 today! With that bein’ said, let’s stay motivated! Here goes an old review for Pimp Daddy Still Pimpin’, released in 1993, around, on Cash Money Records & was produced by DJ Crack Out & Mannie Fresh! Start Time: 2:16 AM | End Time: 3:01 AM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> “ iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> “ iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01. “Pimp Out ’93 (Lil’ Bit)”
>>> Sounds nice; good shit, here… Diggin’ tha flow of tha bounce vibe ova this gangsta beat… My Rating: 4.1

02. “What Kind Of Nigga”
>>> Sounds nice, here, wit tha upbeat beat of “Paid In Full”… Sounds like a nice lil’ hook, too; good shit… Props for keepin’ it movin’, here, wit tha rappin’… My Rating: 4.2

03. Crack Out
>>> Just sounds like a nice lil’ beat interlude; always gotta keep it movin’! My Rating: N/A

04. “Got 2 Be Real #2”
>>> Nice hook; nice bounce vibe… Of course, you keepin’ tha bounce vibe goin’ wit tha 1st verse, here, strictly spittin’ rhymes and riggity-riggity-rhymes!! Talk about crazy, right before tha 3:00 mark! “Gots-2-be-ah, gots-2-be-ah, gots-2-be-ah, gots-2-be-ah;” crazy! My Rating: 4.3

05. “Break’em Off Some” feat. Lil’ Slim
>>> This “’94,” huh? I seen a bunch of different results for this online… Either way, this has a usual beat for tha ‘90s that sounds nice/calm… Good job wit tha hook and 1st verse, here… Keepin’ it movin’ wit tha 2nd verse and it’s nice ta hear… Talk about breakin’ ‘em “off!” And, a nice 3rd verse, here; nice job wit tha collab… My Rating: 4.0

06. “Real-Ass Gangsta”
>>> Feelin’ tha gat-soundin’ imitations on tha 1st verse, here, doin’ ya thang… Feelin’ tha hook; luv when you scat tha words! Tha 2nd verse’s nice, too, as we quickly get through this… Nice 3rd verse wit how all these ages were tha times, back then… My Rating: 4.2

½time: Not just your usual bounce music but more on tha gangsta side, here; definitely nice! A 4.2-rated CD, here; good shit! Gotta keep it movin’!

07. “God Bless Tha Dead (R.I.P.)”
My Current Rating: 4.0

08. “No Bullshit Biiiiitch” feat. Lil’ Slim
!!! >>> I like how y’all praisin’ tha producers in tha beginning… If this was two decades later, I can see this bein’ a beat tag: “If Mannie Fresh ain’t do it, we can’t fuck wit it!” With that bein’ said, tha beat’s nice and gangsta, here, wit a lil’ upbeat vibe goin’ on throughout tha hook, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s nice ta hear… Diggin’ tha 2nd verse, as y’all spittin’ some X-rated shit; good shit… Keepin’ it movin’ wit tha 3rd verse and y’all keepin’ it goin’, here; props… My Rating: 4.1

09. “Do You C What I C”
>>> Sounds like a nice bounce track, but wit a gangsta vibe, once again… Nice lil’ hook, here; all about “shmokin’ dat weed,” ya dig? Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s pretty nice, here… And, tha 2nd verse’s pretty nice wit how you continue to deliver them laidback, gangsta-tellin’, shmokin’-good rhymes, here… My Rating: 4.2

10. “Boo-Koo Bitches”
>>> Sounds catchy on tha hook, here; feelin’ tha bounce vibe in tha flow and beat… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s pretty nice, here; just keep spittin’! Keepin’ it movin’ wit tha 2nd verse, here, soundin’ pretty nice, too… And, tha rest of this wit all these “bitches” iz nice, here… My Rating: 3.9

11. “Get ‘Em Up Niggaaaaa” feat. Ms. Tee
!!! >>> Sounds good; has a hidden Mardi Gras feel to it in tha background, here… Hearin’ tha hook and it’s nice; nothin’ ta really say, tho… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s nice, as well… Feelin’ all tha cities bein’ shouted out, here; so many ta name!! There’s mine: “New York niggaz, get ‘em up, my nigga!” Keepin’ it movin’ wit Ms. Tee on tha 2nd verse, here, spittin’ some nice, Jamaican-like rhymes, here; great collab… It’s like if Lady Saw was in tha N.O.! Lol, that’s tha first thang that came to my mind… Seems like this so long… My Rating: 4.1

12. “Hoeshit Ends ’94 Biiitch”
>>> A decent beat ta end thangz off with, that almost sounds like an outro in tha beginning, here… Yeah, just an outro; where’d tha “featuring Ms. Tee” come from? My Rating: N/A

Overall: Most of tha tracks had tha same vibe but it was a good, consistent vibe fa your Louisiana collection. Props to Pimp Daddy; wish there was more out there, today! But, we got this to enjoy…
