Review #1,709: Wolfe "T.A.T.A. (This Ain't The Album)"

Reviewed on 4.24.2017 (Review #1,709)

It’s crazy how all I did was go out for one second and a bunch of shit happened… I had an anxiety attack and hit a curb, outside my job ‘cause my job gives me an anxiety attack, smh! As tha area around my passenger’s side’s tire’s gettin’ fixed, lemme shake back and continue these reviewz… This next dude, I met outside tha Hookah Lounge as I was shootin’ some B-roll of tha place… He gave me this CD and now, it’s time to see what’s good wit him… Not sure if he with a label, but it’s Wolfe T.A.T.A. (This Ain’t The Album); lemme see… Start Time: 4:18 PM | End Time: 5:14 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> “ iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> “ iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01. “Crew Song”
Time ta kick thangz off… >>> For an East Coast-soundin’ start, it sounds pretty nice for a start, with this 1st verse/beat… Sounds pretty intense and nuts from :50 – 1:03!! You really got a lot to offer! Pretty dope how we met up outside tha club! Lil’ hook, here, ta break thangz up…; nice… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s pretty nice, too… Sometimes, these aren’t tha types of songs that really bring out tha highest ratings from me but I still gon give you your credit… My Rating: 4.3

02. “Her”
>>> Anotha decent beat, here, but on a slower level… Tha 1st verse ain’t too bad wit what you’re bringin’… Hearin’ tha hook and it sounds like your singin’ style, here; not too bad… Keepin’ it movin’ wit tha 2nd verse and it’s decent, here… My Rating: 3.6

03. “Déjà Vu” feat. Joka
A feature, here; how will this one go? >>> Tha beat sounds like tha mainstream rap that be out these dayz… Hearin’ tha hook and it aight… Hearin’ tha 1st verse from you and it sounds like you have, like, Dee-1 potential? I remember hearin’ Dee a decade ago and thinkin’ ‘bout err-body I’d hear for tha 1st time, I’d neva think they’d be where they’re at today… Who knows, you’ll prolly blow up in tha future; I can see! As far as this verse, it straight; I’ll just say that… Hearin’ this Joka dude on tha 2nd verse and it’s, like, 50/50 with how I should take it… Lyrics are bleh/typical shit that I don’t really fuck wit but how he comes through wit tha verse’s somethin’ I wanna hear on Baton Rouge-soundin’ beats… Goin’ through my blog of reviewz, I believe I heard of Joka before: October 24, 2016, Ralph Geeba’s Versatility CD? Same Joka? My Rating: 3.7

04. “Payday”
>>> Just a plain beat, here; let’s see what gon go down wit this 1st verse… Sounds like a hustle, here… Tha hook aight; just a regular-soundin’ hook ta me… Not really tha craziest about songs about money, ya know? Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s ehh… This mainly sounds boring ta me, at times; not too crazy about tha vibe… Kinda wanna feel tha beginning of tha hook a lil’ betta, tho… My Rating: 3.2

05. “Windows”
>>> Kinda sounds interestin’ wit that random voice in tha background (“I can take you there…?”); sounds nice wit that 1st verse… Tha 2nd verse’s pretty dope, too, as if Dee-1 was completely unknown again, lol… Great job wit how you deliverin’ these rhymes on this non-Louisiana-soundin’ music, here… Tha sound toward tha final minute of tha track sounds a lil’ more hauntin’ with tha “lose all control,” when it comes to drivin’? Crazy, especially since I experienced what I experienced, earlier… My Rating: 4.0

06. “Untitled”
>>> An okay beat wit an okay 1st verse… Tha way you deliver/sing tha hook sounds a lil’ catchy, here… It almost sounds like you have potential to make some big songs in tha future; I feel somethin’… Tha 2nd verse aight; sounds a lil’ Drake-y…? My Rating: 3.5

07. “Motion”
>>> Kinda sounds like it’s on tha same level as these R&B singers, these dayz… Tha hook ain’t too bad, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s decent rappin’ but I feel a good vibe, here… It mainly makes me think of actually makin’ it to Louisiana; good shit… Tha 2nd verse sounds a lil’ catchy… A lil’ Biggie-like on tha rhymes with tha “head right” shit, here… My Rating: 3.8

08. “Dedication”
>>> Sounds more like those singers from today; a feel-good hook? Feelin’ this slow vibe, once again… Tha hook sounds decent; can’t complain… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s nice ta hear; can’t complain, as well… Good job wit tha 2nd verse, too; keep it movin’… Nice lil’ outro, too, with this “hate us ‘cause they ain’t us!” My Rating: 3.7

½time: A decent effort, here, fa somethin’ different… A 3.7-rated CD, here; keep it movin’…

09. “Indica”
Nice title… >>> A smoother, more-R&B vibe, here, with this decent hook and beat… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it straight; nothin’ really ta say… And, keepin’ it movin’ wit tha 2nd verse, holdin’ it down, here… My Rating: 3.1

10. “I See You (Visions)” feat. Coco Chanel
>>> Kinda likin’ this beat start; will somethin’ surprise me? Hearin’ tha 1st verse and how you comin’ through on this sounds like regular-soundin’ music from these dayz… I’ono how much I can really feel this… Tha hook aight; interestin’ vibe fa tha ladies, here… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse from Coco and she sounds nice ta be on tha track; good shit… My Rating: 3.6

11. “Father’s Day Freestyle”
>>> Tha beginning literally almost reminded me of Percy Keith “I’m Nasty”’s beginning; nice reference I just made! Hearin’ tha verse and it sounds like you got tha rhymes on lock, here, ova this beat… My Rating: 4.2

12. “Scarface” feat. Ryan Legend
>>> Sounds like Travi$ Scott music or somethin’, between tha beat and tha hook; umm… Hearin’ tha 1st verse from you and it ain’t bad, here… Hearin’ Ryan on tha 2nd verse and I can’t say he anything special, yet. He sounds like a regular-soundin’ rapper that’s out, now, so nothin’s really sparkin’ at me, here… My Rating: 2.7

13. “Paranoid”
>>> Anotha plain beat, here… Hearin’ tha hook and it aight… I can relate to it when goin’ into work… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s soundin’ okay wit how you’re sing-rappin’ it… Tha 2nd verse goes wit tha 1st verse, here; not much ta say… My Rating: 3.3

14. “Often”
>>> Slow vibe, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s more of a singin’ vibe ta make a good mood fa tha ladies, here… Hearin’ tha hook and it sounds catchy wit tha title repeatin’; definitely a different vibe… Keepin’ it movin’ wit tha 2nd verse, here, as you’re keepin’ this singin’ vibe goin’… Not really for me, here, but I have to say, you did a good job wit this one… My Rating: 2.3

15. “2 Bloom”
>>> Sounds like some serious rappin’, here, like anotha freestyle… Good job wit how you comin’ through wit this… My Rating: 3.4

16. “Wednesday Song”
>>> Endin’ wit an auto-tune song… I’ono, you can have this song back! Just gonna seem uninterested wit reviewin’ this… My Rating: 1.1

Overall: Most of it was on a decent level for a different-soundin’ CD… Not my favorite style of rap music but I do see potential in you blowin’ up, eventually…
