Review #1,696: Master P "MP Da Last Don"

Reviewed on 3.22.2017 (Review #1,696)

Happy 56th day in a row of reviewin’ CDs & only four more dayz till my dream comes true!! My next review iz a double disc! Too bad I stayed up a lil’ later, last night & am gonna have me a nice lil’ shmoke, this early, so I gon have to split up this review… My next review iz Master P MP Da Last Don, released in 1998 on No Limit Records & Priority Records!
Disc 1: Start Time: 2:02 AM | End Time: 2:56 AM
Disc 2: Start Time: 12:29 PM | End Time: 1:14 PM
Overall: Start Time: 2:02 AM | End Time: 1:14 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> “ iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> “ iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

02. “Ghetto Life” feat. UGK, Mo B. Dick & O’Dell
Mo B. Dick on tha production! >>> Sounds like a nice lil’ slow jam, here; feelin’ tha dark vibes… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s not bad, here… Tha hook sounds like a bunch of loud voices, here? Not sure what ta say about it… And, Bun Bizzle on tha 2nd verse and it sounds nice, here… Well, what happened at 2:12? Turned into Babyface? Bad rippin’ goin’ on, here? Well, I’ono what happened but this was decent from what I heard… My Rating: 3.5

03. “Gangsta Bitch” feat. Steady Mobb’n
Craig B beat… >>> Sounds nice; diggin’ tha sample in tha background, here, on tha hook… You sound good on tha 1st verse, here, wit your flow and err-thang; dope shit! 04. “So Many Souls Deceased” feat. The Commission
Carlos Stephens doin’ this track… >>> Diggin’ tha eerie vibes on tha hook, P! Crazy that I’ve “seen” a few “souls deceased,” so far, and yeah, it does change life! I always thought life was tha same for so long and then, my brother died! But, I’m here to continue! Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it sounds nice from you, P! Keepin’ it movin’ wit some Commissionary dudes, here, on tha 2nd verse, holdin’ it down… And, a 3rd verse from The Commission, here, soundin’ nice ta hear, as well… My Rating: 4.0

05. Rock-A-Bye Haters
A skit… >>> Just some whistlin’ ta sleep, here… I just think it sounds tight ‘cause I feel tha eerie, gangsta vibes off tha lullaby of whistlin’ on a Master P CD, lol! My Rating: N/A

06. “Snitches” feat. Snoop Dogg
DJ Darryl on tha track… >>> Sounds like a paranoid run from tha “police,” here, on tha intro… Snoop on tha 1st verse and he comin’ through, dodgin’ and evadin’! Sounds like a long 1st verse, here, but it goes… Here comes you on tha 2nd verse, here, soundin’ nice wit your happy/angry aggression… And, an outro, here; not bad… My Rating: 3.6

My Rating: 4.2

09. “Goodbye To My Homies” feat. Silkk The Shocker, Mo B. Dick & Sons Of Funk
MP beat… >>> So slow, I can fall asleep on tha spot!! I’m yawnin’ as we speak!! *Yawns…* Luckily, I have Music Choice Dance in tha background, keepin’ me awake and anticipated! As far as this track, tha hook and beginning’s almost a minute long, soundin’ slow and draggin’… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s not bad wit what you’re bringin’ to tha table, here, as far as tha story… I can’t really buy this boring, slow shit… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s almost as slow as a spoken word-type track… Tha 3rd verse sounds even more spoken-word than tha previous verse! Ehh!! Skimmed through tha near-end; couldn’t take it anymore! My Rating: 2.5

10. “Welcome To My City” feat. Mac & O’Dell

Mo B. on tha beat, too! >>> Slow track, here; at least it ain’t too long… Hearin’ tha beginning and it’s ehh… Here you come on tha 1st verse, soundin’ like a nice lil’ slow banga witchu rappin’ on it… Mia on tha 2nd verse, here, on tha boring side, tho… I can’t really deal with this slow, depressin’ shit… Lol, she calls you and err-body else “[her] condom!” My Rating: 2.7

12. “Make ‘Em Say Ugh (Part 2)” feat. Fiend, Mia X, Silkk The Shocker & Snoop Dogg
KLC track; anotha version! >>> An intro, here; sounds like it gon be anticipatin’… Sounds like tha beat iz officially remixed, here, into a sequel to tha original version, here… Still, definitely nice, overall! Diggin’ tha extra-uptempo vibe! My Rating: 4.5

13. “Hot Boys & Girls” feat. Kane, Abel, Mia X, Mystikal & Silkk The Shocker
A Craig B beat… >>> Sounds like a dope lil’ slow beat, here; good shit I’m expectin’… I’m really feelin’ how you comin’ through on tha hook! Definitely feelin’ this rappin’ ova this slower-soundin’ beat to get you hype! Tha hook’s pretty nice; definitely feelin’ how you handle tha roll call, here! And, Mia comin’ through on tha 2nd verse, here, soundin’ pretty nice… Tha 3rd verse ain’t too bad, here; regular-soundin’ rappin’, I must say… Tha rest of this keeps it movin’, too; no wack shit here! 14. Reverse The Game
Here’s anotha skit! >>> Sounds like a dope skit; gotta luv tha darkness! My Rating: N/A

15. “Eternity” feat. C-Murder & Mr. Serv-On

You’re on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit some nice shit, too; definitely nice! And, tha 3rd verse’s pretty nice from tha Serv-On, here, definitely jammin’ through it! My Rating: 4.3

Overall: A few tracks made it a lil’ boring on tha 2nd disc, but there still were tha bangerz; nice job, regardless…
