Review #1,537: Sporty Big Balla "Jackin' For Bounce '94"

Reviewed on 9.24.2016 (Review #1,537)

Well, in tha mist of tha reviewz, I got called into work, outta nowhere, lol! I baked from 9:29 PM – 11:04 PM. Funny ‘cause I would’ve done tha next review either way, but tha money came to me! With that bein’ said, let’s continue this marathon of mine! Next up, tha late, great Sporty Big Balla, who’s known as Sporty-T. This his 1994 release, Jackin’ For Bounce ’94, released on Big Boy Records & was produced by Leroy “Precise” Edwards & KLC! Oh yeah, Happy 41st Birthday to tha legendary Skull Duggrey, as well! Can’t wait ta hear from you again, bruh!! Start Time: 11:53 PM | End Time: 12:31 AM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> “ iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> “ iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

02. “Big Balla (Radio)”
Anotha radio edit… >>> Faster bounce vibe, here, wit tha beat and tha intro sounds nice wit you on it… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and you’re really energetic, here; gotta luv ya! Tha hook’s real tight; definitely diggin’ these hustlin’ lyrics! All about dealin’ dem drugs when it comes ta this street music! Tight shit! Smooth, gangsta singin’!! Hearin’ you on tha 2nd verse and you’re keepin’ this energetic vibe comin’!! Tha 3rd verse’s pretty tight, too; gotta luv it!! A true N.O. gangsta!! My Rating: 4.7

03. “Them People Rollin’”
>>> Nice gangsta-bounce vibe, here; good shit on tha 1st verse, Sporty! Tha hook’s pretty jammin’; good shit! Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ good, too; can’t complain… A 3rd verse, here… Sounds like you know what you seein’; you know what you spittin’ ‘bout! My Rating: 4.2

04. “Bigga Nigga”
Yeah! >>> A slower, ‘90s-like vibe, here… Hearin’ tha hook and it sounds like some sorta “twerk” anthem; nice… I’m feelin’ how you feel like an undaground supastar on tha 1st verse, here, doin’ ya thang… Good job wit tha 2nd verse, too, here, holdin’ thangz down… My Rating: 4.4

05. “Frank White”
Let’s get it! >>> Nice gangsta style, here, wit tha beat, drug content & hook! Nice samples goin’ on, here… Tha 1st verse sounds nice wit tha delivery and lyrics; good shit! Beat don’t have ta have much goin’ on wit it; there’s YOU, T! Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ good, too… Tha 3rd verse soundin’ nice, too; can’t deny you, T! My Rating: 4.3

½time: Classic shit at its finest! That’s how tha late, great Sporty-T did it!! A 4.4-rated release, so far; excellent!! One of tha best!!

06. “Let’cha Know”
! >>> Sounds like a random screamin’ sample, though really quiet, lol? Nice, long hook, lol… I’ono, but this seems random? After 1:56, here comes tha rappin’, lol… Oh wait, tha next song’s “Let’cha Know”? Might as well review that… Beat’s nice, despite a lil’ plain… Feelin’ your dope lyrics, holdin’ it down! Tha hook’s catchy as fuck, whether it’s simple as fuck or not! My Rating: 4.3

07. “Jackin’ For Bounce”
I believe this iz next? I’m gettin’ confused; it must’ve been ripped wrong… >>> Beat sounds nice with tha “bounce;” good shit! Since tha hook’s “gimme dat beat, fool,” I assume it has to do wit “Jackin’ For Bounce”, like one of tha tracks on here… My Rating: 4.1

08. “Big Balla”
Could it be…? >>> It iz! I’m back on track, here! See #2 fa tha review!

09. “Rock That”
>>> A short ring… Okay, a lil’ intro… My Rating: N/A

10. “Sporty Talk-N-Sporty”
>>> Beat’s nice and bounce-y, without tha ‘dinn-dinn-dinn-dinn, dinn-dinn-dinn-dinn,” lol… Good shit comin’ outta tha 1st verse… Tha 2nd verse’s keepin’ this 504-type shit continuin’; nice job! Good shit comin’ outta tha 3rd verse, too, strictly keepin’ it goin’! My Rating: 4.0

11. Roll Call (Ya Dig)
>>> Good beat ova these shout outs; nice… My Rating: N/A

Overall: Excellent gangsta-bounce release from tha legend, Sporty-T! Good shit, bruh! Too bad you’re not alive ta see this review but this a great way ta start your legendary reviewz off! I know I done reviewed other shit of yours already, but this tha 1st release from you. Can’t wait ta check out tha rest of your collection! Also, this gon sound weird but since I took off work tomorrow, I think this tha 1st time in PA, for a day off that excludes closing, since 2014, that I’ve been awake in tha midnight hour, without a nap! Crazy shit!
